The buying process can seem a little overwhelming to some. That's why we are here, to help guide you through it step by step and make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. It can be an emotional journey and we are here to help. While everyone's purchase  experience will be different there are some basic steps that we all have to go through. Below is a quick summary of how the process works and a link to download our home buyers guide. A lot of our clients find it to be helpful to know what to expect.

The first thing is to find an agent that is a good fit for you. Not every agent will click with you and  you want to make sure that they are a good fit for you and can help you with your goals. They can assist you with the entire process from start to finish and beyond!

1) Prepare Your Finances.

You need to make sure that you are ready financially ready to purchase a home. You don't want to fall in love with a house only to find out later that you can't afford it or there is an error on your credit report that kills the purchase at the last minute.  If you need recommendations on lenders to help with this part of the process talk to your real estate agent, they can recommend a couple people to talk to to help you out!

2)  Start Your Home Search

Now that you have a good idea of the amount of home you can afford, the fun really begins. Talk to your agent and together you can discuss what type of home you are looking for, what features are important to you , and what you definitely do and do not want in your home. A good agent will listen to what you want and ask questions to make sure they are looking for exactly what you want. This is a good time to make a "Need/Want/Never" list of items that you are looking for in your new home. This is a good thing to do with your partner or spouse if you have one, so you don't end up looking for different homes.

3) Offer to Closing

The next steps can be a roller-coaster of emotion so be prepared.  Once you found the right home its time to make an offer. Your agent will be with you every step of the way to offer advice and guide you through the process of determining a good price writing up an offer, negotiating the final agreements , going through inspections and getting you to the closing table.  This part of the process is when things start to move quickly so be ready to work with your agent, lender and inspectors to get it all scheduled and finished in time for the closing.

4) Closing Time!

Everything is finished, and its time to do the final walk-though to check on the home one last time before you sign the papers. then on closing day it's time meet with everyone and sign sign the final paperwork and get your keys to your new home! Make sure to follow all of your lender and agent directions and bring the required ID's and documents to the closing table.
